Youthab helps individuals obtain and maintain the three essentials for quality of life: housing, good mental health and employment.

Under the Youthab umbrella of services are the Career Edge Employment Programs, the Community Mental Health Counseling Program and three very specific Housing Programs: the Transition Home Program, Cooperative Housing, and the Hastings Housing Resource Centre Program.
Today, through our various programs and a dedicated staff of over 50 professionals, we provide confidential, professional services to over 10,000 people per year in the 6 communities we service in the Greater Quinte area.

Career Edge, Job Connect

Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 8:30am - 5:30pm
Friday: 8:30am - 4:00pm


Job Connect Trenton is ideal for individuals of all ages who are entering the workforce for the first time and require that extra incentive to market themselves to an employer. It offers employers a wage subsidy to provide training and employment
to a new employee. Job Connect Trenton is for people who are not eligible for employment insurance.

Job Connect Trenton also offers assistance to anyone seeking access to apprenticeships and to new Canadians who need help to connect with employers in this country. Free Service to Everyone!

Employment Consultant Services Include:

  • Job search assistance
  • Job placement and referral services
  • Regular seminars such as WHMIS and Smart Serve
  • Apprenticeships
  • Second Career Strategy

The Job Connect Trenton program also has The Trenton Employment Resource Centre. Drop in. No appointment necessary. The Resource Centre has up-to-date job postings, photocopying, local faxing and computers with Internet access for job searching.

Services to Employers:

  • Wage subsidy for employers who qualify
  • Advertising for potential employees
  • Referral of qualified employees
