Established in 1989 The Community Development Council of Quinte (CDC) is a non-profit charitable organization that promotes the planning and provision of health and social services to ensure residents of the Quinte community are provided with the necessities of life and an opportunity to improve one's quality of life.

Council activities fall into three primary categories. They are:

  • Social Planning and Research
  • Community Development
  • Community Building

The Community Development Council promotes and participates in the implementation of a grass-roots community development and social planning process. We do this by: Identifying urgent and emerging social issues, heightening the awareness of the community to the needs of its members, and by providing opportunities to share and develop skills so that individuals can gain control over their own lives.

We also draw upon the skills and resources within the community to help our community create local solutions to local problems.
